STATEMENT OF FAITH - Before you go any further in the application process Please read the TSM Doctrinal Statement below:
We believe that the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is the only inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God. All of Scripture points toward Christ and is useful for growth in Christ likeness which should be our goal.
We believe there is only one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe God, as Father, reigns over His entire universe with providential care. He is all-powerful, all-loving, all-knowing, and all-wise. He is fatherly in attitude toward all men but is Father, indeed, to those who have become children of God through Jesus Christ, who will deliver them into the Father's hands.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who humbled himself taking on the form of a man by means of the virgin birth, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died crucified on a cross making atonement for our sins, is resurrected from the dead, and is now seated at the right hand of God interceding for believers.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Promise of the Father, our comforter, sent to convict the world of sin, places the believer in the Body of Christ, illuminates the Word, and indwells the believer for works of service to the Church.
We believe that creation is a direct act of God revealing His invisible qualities, eternal power, and the glory of His divine nature leaving all mankind without excuse.
We believe man was created in the image of God, through disobedience sinned and fell, and that the entire human race shares in man's lost and depraved nature.
We believe salvation is the gift of God by grace alone and is received by personal faith in Jesus Christ. This faith is manifested in true believers through works that are pleasing to God. Through Christ's death, burial, and resurrection we are justified, and therefore placed in the position to share in His divine nature as a new creation.
We believe in the unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and the authority of His church. That the Christian community is the context where believers are strengthened, encouraged, and challenged to conform to the image of Jesus Christ and grow into His likeness.
We believe it is every believer's privilege and obligation to be an instrument in the Redeemer's hands. This requires an intentional involvement in the lives of others: teaching, encouraging, and helping them to abide in Christ and obey the commands of the Scriptures.
